Flexipass thru Europe

I purchased a France/Italy flexipass for 4 days. We bought first class for 259.00 each. We are traveling from Paris to Nice....Then Nice to the Cinque Terre.....Cinque Terre to Venice.....And then Venice to Florence. Does anyone know how this works? Do we have to pay extra for seat numbers? Also, how much time will it take to travel between these cities? Thanks!

Paula-

The trip from Paris-Nice is on TGV, and I believe reservation is required - which means you have to pay extra for a seat reservation. The trip is 5.5hrs.

I'm not familiar with CT.

From Venice to Florence, if you take the Eurostar train, again you will need to pay extra for the seat reservation. The trip takes 2hrs 49mins.

If you need seat reservations the cheapest way to get them is after you arrive in Europe. Get your passes validated as soon as you arrive and at the SAME TIME make any seat reservations you'll need. Have handy the dates and the times or train numbers that you would like to use..have you accessed any of the online timetables to figure out the times yet?
On some of the routes you may not need a reservation..on the Italian Eurostar services (if that is what you plan to use) between Florence and Venice you will need a reservation just as you do on the TGV route Paris-Nice. Generally you can make all the reservations at any rail station.

Hi Paula,

You must have reservations on TGV and ES* trains.

You make your Paris/Nice and Nice/CT reservations in France.

CT/Venice and Venice/Florence reservations are made in Italy.

Just so you know:

The TGV reservation is just a few euro, but there are limited TGV seats available to railpass holders. If you MUST be on certain trains, you might want to get your reservations before you leave. I've gotten them from:
