Thanks Cathies for the recommendation, I actually already had a reservation at Al Ponte and have heard such wonderfule things, I'm so excited!!
That sounds really great ayemccarty! I'm just so excited to go already! I really wish it were sooner! My friend just went to Rome and the Amalfi coast and recommended a tour guide they have in Italy called the Appian Line. She said their day tours were excellent, so I think i'll look into that as well.
Has anyone else heard of them?

I absolutely agree that Siena and San Gimignano are must see's. We stayed in a villa just outside of Castellina in Chianti and it is a beautiful part of Tuscany with amazing breathtaking scenery.
I'm so glad you booked the Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo. We enjoyed it very much and were well looked after.

Just received confirmation of our Scavi Tour for the first Tuesday of our trip (we arrive in Rome on a Sunday)!!! I can't believe it's nearly a month away!
I have the flights, hotel reservations, and the scavi reservation... should I be making other arrangements as the trip approches?

Clifbob,
I'm sure you're long gone on your trip to Italy! But, I put in my request via e-mail in the middle of August. I read on the boards that it takes quite a while for them to respond to you and they responded to me over a month later by e-mail towards the end of September.
Hope that helps!
