Welcome to Fodors. Unfortunately your question is 100% unanswerable. You need to fill in a LOT of blanks. 'First timers' means who -- a couple, a family (children's ages), seniors?? When? What sorts of things do you enjoy -- why you chose Italy? Driving or public transport??
But in any case that is sort of like asking "First timers to the United States, what should we see in two weeks?" Yes, Italy is smaller than the USA, but its is the same sort of request.
Maybe 1) get a good guide book(s) to get some ideas, and 2) read over some of the other threads on this forum to see what sorts of details people include when requesting help.

So many options! What time of year? How many people? What type of trip? Kids? Interests?
On my last trip we did a week in Tuscany, several days in Venice and the to/from on the remaining days during our two week trip. Day trip to Florence. It was a great trip!
