Hi, Liz,
We stayed at Hotel La Santa Maria on the beachfront at Sitges; there were a number of families with children present. Not fancy, good restaurant, pretty inexpensive.
The Grand Melia is a very nice business/resort property separated from the city center by about 1 km; also quite nice looking.
You can see some of the hotel offerings at http://www.travelsitges.com/

I wonder why -- if you are not homosexual -- that you would choose to take a family to Sitges. It's a notorious hangout of the gay set.

Hi again,
Homer is apparently trying to resurrect a thread from some months back about Sitges, in which some anonymous poster tried to elicit similar homophobic reactions, or reactions to reactions, ad nauseum. It got nasty and REALLY over the limit for a Fodor's forum.

Yes, Sitges seems relatively tolerant of gay people. Yes, it's also a very pleasant family holiday area. Public behavior in Sitges in my wife's and my experience was always in bounds, respectful of people's privacy, and frankly more relaxed and pleasant than a number of other Spanish locations we've visited.

There was a sort of pact on the previous thread that we shouldn't give messages like Homer's the time of day. That pact didn't hold up well, and maybe I'm breaking ranks on this one a little, but, Liz, ignore the provocation.

And Homer.....doughnuts.

John, I applaud your response! It was necessary to post as you did, and NO, you did NOT "break ranks on this one...." You responded as necessary!

Wow. A ten-year old post. The search function must be working again.
