I’m still fine-tuning my Portugal itinerary for mid May. We fly into Lisbon early morning. Knowing that we cannot check into a hotel before later in the day I decided to go on to Evora. I’d rather not drive that first day since we will be so tired. The remainder of the trip we’re planning to use the train system. Can anyone suggest a driver for this portion of the trip?

Thanks Maribel. I have contacted them to get a quote. I know there are trains and buses that go that way. But, I think we’ll be pretty exhausted after an overnight flight and might appreciate a nice quiet ride to Evora.
I have finished booking most of my hotels, including the Lagrimas in Evora. But, I still need to book three nights at the end of the trip. Was hoping to get rooms at the Albatroz; but they’re booked up. From what I have read, I think I would prefer to stay in Cascais over Estoril. Am I correct in assuming that would be more to see and do in Cascais? The Cidadela and Baka don’ really appeal to me, do you have another suggestion?

Yes, I would stay in Cascais rather than Estoril.
We stayed the last time at the Cidadela and on first glance, it didn't appeal (very contemporary), but I grew to like it. It is rambling, with long hall ways and a bit quirkily themed art rooms, but it sits within the arts district, with a great location and adjacent to the marina with its shops and restaurants. It does have both an indoor and outdoor pool. It´s really much, much nicer than the Baia. We were upgraded to a room with sit out terrace facing the water.
We tried to stay at the Albatroz but they were booked.

The very contemporary Farol Design isn't in the town center (but not too far a walk) and sits directly facing the water. Rooms run on the small side.

But....The hotel that really catches my attention, that I would now suggest you look at is the new Artsy Cascais, to see if it appeals. It's the new luxury hotel with only 17 rooms in a reconverted 19th century palace, across from the Cidadel in the Arts District and has an indoor pool and a roof top bar. It's a member of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. It gets a 9.5 rating on booking.com.

Artsy looks great. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve been trying to book it on their website to no avail. May call there tomorrow.
