Finalizing restaurant reservations in Paris

I have finalized the choices for restaurant reservations based on a lot of reading on the site, and the feedback I got on my posts--and additional feedback is appreciated. As well, if you have suggestions for activities around these meals, I'm all ears.

Dinner: Le Train Bleu

Lunch: Le Totem (followed by drinks in Le Effiel) and Armand

These are the only 3 I am making reservations for before arriving--others will be made with our concierge.

Thanks!

Hi
I think le Totem is fantastic for the night view, but otherwise the food is mediocre and pricey for what it is. I"m not saying don't go, because that night view of the Eiffel Tower is great.
Daytime, I don't know that I'd care that much.

I am with Elaine regarding Le Totem. Had lunch on a hot day at the end of May and wasn't impressed at all - nor by the service (very slow), nor by the food. It's pretty expensive for what you get.

But it was fun to watch the Eiffel Tower and the crowds around it, while sitting under a huge umbrella, relaxing and sipping a glass of wine.
And then, the toilets are in the public area of the Theatre de Chaillot and they charge you some 50 cents. I didn't mind paying that, if, at least it had been clean....
Next time in that particular area, I'll hit the restaurant of the Palais de Tokyo or the place just between the Palais de Tokyo and the Musée d'Art Moderne on Avenue du President Wilson. Both looked much more appealing to me. But then, the view isn't what you have at Le Totem.

As for Le Train Bleu. Go for the stunning interior, but forget about the food. Just overpriced and pretty mediocre.
I suggest, you just have a drink at the bar and choose a different place for dinner.

I second what Ursula said about Le Train Bleu--we went for a glass of wine in the lounge and thoroughly enjoyed the room and watching folks arrive for lunch. I had heard the food is just not worth it.

For those unaware, Armand is situated at the northwest end of the Palais Royale. Very charming little place. From that point to the Grands Boulevards Metro, you can walk through Galerie Colbert, Galerie Vivienne and the Passage de Panoramas.

I've read a few negative comments about Le Train Bleu, but I enjoyed my lunch there very much. I agree that it is not inexpensive, but the 3 in our group enjoyed both our food and the ambiance.

3 people, with wine, was under 30 euro per person, just about the same amount that we spent per person at Altitude 95 in the Eiffel Tower; the difference is, I feel that Alt 95was strictly about location and view, while Le Train Bleu was an enjoyable dining experience overall.

Well, for 50E/person you can eat at the Jules Verne and really have a first class experience of view and food.

Hey Barb,

I guess we folks from Georgia just have similar tastes.
