If you head out to La Campagne à Paris in the 20th or La Mouzaïa in the 19th you can see complete neighborhoods like rue Crémieux, not just single streets. Here are kerouac's reports about those neighborhoods:

I've been to the Marmottan, the nearby Musee Clemenceau and the part of the 16th around Roland Garros including the lovely little Jardin des Serres Auteil. I've walked past Hector Guimard's buildings on rue la Fontaine and rue Agar in the 16th. I've also visited Foundation le Corbusier in the 16th. I've not been to the Bagatelle at Bois de Boulogne but have wanted to wait to go there during the height of "rose season" rather than in September.

Musee D'Orsay is my favorite Paris museum and I love the art nouveau furniture on display but I go there every single time I visit and DH has been there as well.

I've been to the Louvre basement with my son. We aren't shoppers but I have Galeries Lafayette (food halls and roof top) and Printemps (dome over Café Flo)still on the itinerary. However, we've been to both of those stores before and I'm really trying not to repeat sites.

Then you idea of the Passages is great. But I never mind returning to favorites.
Is the Rodin out?
You haven't mentioned the St. Ouen Marche. Also the Saturday market at Porte Vanves. Love the latter--not so much the former any more, but for a first time, it is interesting.
One thing we always repeat is to eat mussels at one of the cafes across from the Gare du Nord, sitting on their terrace and looking at the Gare façade.

We will only be in Paris Sunday afternoon until Thursday morning so Saturday markets are out. We aren't shoppers except for my obsessive window licking at Palais Royal and on Faubourg Saint-Honore.

Although I've visited most of the covered passages, I do plan to wander through Galeries Vivienne and Colbert (again) because I know DH will enjoy them.

We've never attended a concert at Sainte-Chapelle so I'm putting that on the list.

Ann Marie - in answer to your question, I am copying a blog post I wrote at the time. (So no, I couldn't recall! This was a 2009 trip.)

<< I narrowed it down to 16 places, (there were more than 100!) organized them by time of day and location, and off we went. What a great day! We started in the 18th at the "I love you" wall at 8:30AM; went to the 17th to the Square des Batignolles (we had never been - wow! a Paradise in Paris); then we went to the 2nd to a grand movie theatre called the Rex (we couldn't get in without a ticket so we kissed in the lobby); then to the Pont Marie; then to the Carnavelet Museum - a new one for us - great museum; then to the Quai de la Tournelle; breather for lunch, and back to the Metro Abbesses. We only hit 7!!

My husband's favorite place was the Pont Marie. Mine was behind the Louis XIV statue at the Carnavelet. Oh yeah, the book also tells you whether you should be discreet at a certain location or just go with it - I mean, this is Paris....>>

As you can see, we worked parks and other sights into the day.

Sounds like you have more than enough to keep you busy on your next trip!

For that short a time, there's plenty to do. You don't have to have a Saturday market.

Think we might do this Segway Tour of the Bois de Boulogne.

Right across from the entrance to the Jardin d'Acclimatation is a bike rental place and you can rent bikes for about 5€ an hour and ride around the woods. There's another bike rental place on the lake as well. Great bike trails both paved and packed dirt. Lovely ride around the lakes but especially the paved bike trail that borders the creek that runs through the woods. If you want to stop at the Parc de Bagatelle they'll watch your bike while you go in and take a look. The most beautiful park in Paris IMO. You can download a map of the Bois here:

http://www.paris.fr/english/parks-wo...151_port_18985

And you can also buy the same map (large scale) for a few euros in Paris. There is an icon that shows the bike rental locations in the Bois. The paved bike trail is highlighted in red. Beautiful ride.

Thanks FMT. Good to know about the bike rentals available at the park. Cheaper than Segways and available on our own schedule. I'd love to have lunch at le Pavillion de la Grande Cascade!

How about no museums. Take a ride on the metro and go on a line you have never taken before and get off on a stop and go above ground and explore the neighborhood. Or maybe make it a music themed trip trying out different genres of music; jazz, manouche, etc. Then you could hit up every park that you have never visited in Paris. Try to visit every high spot/building in Paris for the vistas. Food could be as you suggest a macaron tour or eclairs or best baquette, etc. We like to go to horseracing tracks while there or seek out different architecture for example Le Corbusier. I'm wishing I had a trip planned for Paris, maybe 2015.

Walking the quayside between Pont Royal and Pont D'Alma looks interesting with the addition of some new "islands" and a staircase down to the river in front of Musee D'Orsay. I find recycled shipping containers interesting too.

Rather than a metro ride to a "place" take the bus and actually see Paris along the way.

Gretchen, I've got le Train Bleu on the list for lunch. Besides rue Crémieux, I'm looking for interesting sites in that area. Any thoughts? Hmmmm, or I could do a Belle Époque themed hunt for architecture.

The link FMTs linked above has a host of detailed walks in Paris many with interesting ties to film but also other subjects. http://www.paris.fr/english/visit/paris-walks/p10085

For a theme there is nothing better than the Art Deco metro entrances. Or Art Deco architecture.
