I live on the coast and the water and appreciate the sea and views and beach. It was a different landscape than my Fl and I think it is well worth a trip. The op didn't ask us that though. So sorry I gave my positive opinion.

Do ferry if nice weather but train is quick and great back up. Have a great trip.

Hiking, thus using your feet, is the preferred way to visit the Cinque Terre villages
