Ferry from Sardinia to Positano?

Have you taken the ferry from Sardinia to Positano? How long was it? Do you recommend it over flying to Rome and then driving to Positano? Seems like it would be a more simple route to take the ferry. THANKS!

I never put my feet on Sardinia, Alison. Anyways, there's a ferry service between Cagliari and Naples offered by Tirrenia. Trip takes about 16 hours. Frequency varies depending on month of year. See
http://www.forti.it/tirrenia/Inglese/index.html

There are also ferries from sardinia (many ports) to Fiumicino, Civitavecchia, Leghorn, Genoa and other. See (may be outdated)
http://www.fun.informare.it/ferry/sard.asp

The fastest way to get from Sardinia to the continent by boat is probably from Olbia to Civitavecchia (4 hours). ciao alison!

we do have a house in sardegna (alghero) and it depends where in sardegna you will be. if you can give more information? but please please don't take the tirrenia ferrie, they are the worst and i would prefer sardegna ferries or moby lines. if you like you can e-mail me directly i would like to help you with sardegna and the ferries.

tanti saluti

christina
