Ferry Booking Catagories

I'm about ready to book my ferries online but am confused about which category I should choose. Economy w/wo table, Business, VIP etc. All I'm truly interested is in cleanliness, non-smoking and restrooms and the most economical. Just want to be sure if I take the economy route it's not going to get me in the dungeon on the ferry

The highspeed ferries are all clean and modern. Don't worry, the dungeon is washed out once a year and the rats aren't too big.

LOL, Lee. I might add, the tickets are cheaper if you bring your water skis.

Seriously, when are you travelling? You may not have to book ahead if outside high season.

Hi taller_is_better,

I'm glad you took our good-natured ribbing the right way.

For August I agree you should book tickets in advance, especially for the highspeeds & flying cats.

I've never had a complaint about dleanliness on the modern ships operated by Hellenic Seaways or Blue Star. Just as with airlines, though, toilets are sometimes less than pristine by the end of the trip.

I'm happy with economy seats in no-smoking, but economy seats are cramped on the flying cats, so if you are tall, you may want to go business class.

Highspeeds are roomier, and you can easily get up and move around. All seats are reserved.

If you are traveling on Blue Star, a few extra euros will get you a reserved aircraft seat. You can walk around, go to the restaurant or outside deck, then return knowing your seat will still be there.
