Coral thanks for the great trip report, I'm glad it was such a good time. I am totally in love with Italy, it's why I keep going back over and over. Sometimes we try another place, and it's nice but.....it's not Italy.
SusanP your trip will be great-Puglia is fantastic.

coral22, thank you so much for taking the time to write your wonderful and very helpful trip report. And thanks for the summary, too. It's very helpful! We do plan on 4 nights in Florence and 3 nights in Milan, which might include a daytrip to Bergamo. For Tuscany, we plan on 3 nights in Siena with daytrips to Pienza and San Gimignano, and 2 nights in Lucca.
I hope you had a wonderful time in London! We have friends who are there now, and they've made comments about the high cost of food! We hope to visit England and Ireland in September 2025. Gotta keep on traveling!

Thanks everyone!
Karen, you will have a great time!
We were in Oxford, Cotswolds, Bath and London, so another trip report to follow!
We didn't find the food prices too bad, but we are used to Houston and Chicago.

Another must do, this dessert shop in Montepulciano!
Try to sit all the way in the back, with the fabulous views of the hills

Caffe Poliziano is not just for desserts! We've enjoyed lovely meals there... good food, charming atmosphere, great wine. It's just 5 minutes' walk from our favorite hotel (La Locanda di San Francesco), so we had only to stumble back to our beds.
I love Montepulciano! So many good restaurants...

Thanks, Jean
We were there in the afternoon, so we didn't even look at a menu, the desserts drew us in.
I did notice later, on the site that I attached that they had pictures of breakfast offerings, good to know that you can enjoy meals there all day long!
Is Montepulciano your "go to" place to stay in Tuscany?

Oh God, I'm so happy for you. I plan to visit Italy next year. I will save this thread for the future so that I know exactly what to expect from Italian cities.
Once I was in Rome, I admired the beauty of the city and the entrepreneurial spirit of the locals
When I was in the central square near the cathedral, I was offered coffee for 20 euros, and as a beginner I bought myself this coffee. Then I went a little further and saw the same coffee for 2 euros...
