Fairyland Venice report!
Just back from Venice after spending two glorious weeks there and three day trips away from it. It was one wondrous day after the other. I don't know how anyone can spend a few days only...I could spend a few years there and still not see everything.
Everything was a highlight. The people were warm and friendly and most could speak enough English for me to understand and get my message across. The food was out of this world! Went to Murano twice because the glass ware in the hundreds of tiny shops were a dream. Torcello was moody and reeked of antiquity. Charming. We ate a brilliant seafood lunch at the Cipriano restaurant on the island. It rained the day we visited the Rialto but it was still busy and sold everything you can imagine and more. We stopped and had coffee in so many sweet places. Saint Mark's and the Doge's palace was breathtaking with the golden staircase and the opulence. We had lunch at a fantastic seafood restaurant on the Lido...Al vecio cantier...warm and intimate with A1 service.I especially loved the Guggenheim museum...what style that woman had!! so many wonderful painting and the garden sculptures were surprising. Another delight was going out to Padua,a town where we spent almost a full day because there were so many beautiful things to see. More later and I have some photos. where can I post the photos?

I use shutterfly.com and love the site. You create an album and then you can create a domain where you can put your various photos into different "tabs." You can add text for a trip report to use a link to another web site for longer reports. I do both. Here's my site so you can see what it looks like. I have it arranged in thumbnails but clicking on the first photo brings up the slideshow option. Shutterfly is very easy to use.

I'm looking forward to the photos! Where did you stay? Seems that most people go to Venice for a shorter visit -- but it seems like you thoroughly enjoyed your two week stay. I was in Venice many years ago - in the winter and thought it was magical.

I look forward to the photos as well. When I went to Venice the last time, in 2006, I went for 9 days and so many people asked me why I stayed so long, and I also thought it wasn't long enough. I'm returning again this year and will only stay 3 1/2 days and it kills me but I only have 2 weeks that I can be away and will also go to Salzburg and Prague, so I will savor every minute of my 3 1/2 days.
As far as where to put your pictures, you can also try Webshots.com I used to put my pictures there before I got my own website. Looking forward to seeing the pics.
