I don't know if this qualifies, but the 'Children of Lir' (Aodh, Conn, Fiachra and Fionualla) were enchanted and turned into Swans. As I approached Belmullet Bay, playing Carne Golf links in northwest County Mayo (holes #12, 13 and 14, which is called Fionualla) I heard the Swans calling; but I didn't see anything. This happened to me only once although I have played that 'nine' several times.

When I told people in the Clubhouse what I heard, I was told about the legend.

Take care with your daughters!

There are fairy forts all over Ireland, Srulik, but you really need to ask the locals about where to find them.

Most are located on private land and you'll need the owners' permission.

Have fun.
