Great job writing your trip report.
As far as Santorini, we disliked it and others at our hotel felt the same way. I know you were on a cruise ship, but they have caused the severe overcrowding there.
Lindos is beautiful and we liked Rhodes once out of Old Town. Though, one of favorite restaurants in Greece is near Old Town.
Naplion is one of our favorite places to visit and is considered one of Greece’s most beautiful cities
along with Chania, Crete.
Glad your husband’s 50th birthday trip was such a great success!

This thread is thirteen years old.
Rhodes old town is nice. Lindos feels like disney land to me. The only redeeming value are the ruins. I admit Rhodes old town has some VERY touristy spots but in general it feels more real. The ruins in Rhodes are also less crowded.
For people heading to the island a day trip to Symi is worth the small expense. Biggest issue is it's a slow ferry.
