Extra night in Slovenia

I was going over my itinerary for our Croatia/Slovenia/Italy vacation. I realized have a night not booked in between. Here is what I have so far:
Dubrovnik 3 nights
Split 1 night
Hvar 3 nights
Plitvice 2 nghts
Rovinj 2 nights
Lake Bled 2 nights
Ljubljana 2 nights
no hotel booked for one night
2 nights in Italy in the fruili wine region
one night purposefully not booked, maybe Venice maybe countryside
airport hotel
I am not sure where to add the extra night. We are taking the bus from Ljubljana to Venice to pick up a car for the italian part of the trip. Should we stay an extra night in Lake Bled and visit more of the Julien Alps? Or should I add the extra night to the hotel in the friuli area?
Can we get to Kobarid from Lake Bled? s it worth visiting, and/or should we stay there?
I know its a lot of questions!!

You face a wealth of wonderful opportunities! So I (at least) need to know more about your interests before offering recommendations....

And are your existing reservations flexible? Can you cancel or shift a day?

Yes I can cancel and shift a day...thankfully!! I really am hoping someone knows of a small town other than Lake Bled to visit near Ljubljana, where we are catching the bus to venice

We have varied interests. Love architecture , scenery, some walking. And always food!! We love to wander through quaint villages.

I hope you don't plan to skip Ljubljana - it is a truly lovely little city and sounds like a great match to your interests! (I had a wonderful meal at Pri Škofu. Looks like it still gets good reviews, so you might check it out.) If you search this board for Slovenia, I think you'll find posts from a few people who know much more about the country than I.

Given the interests you mention, you might want to consider adding a night to Split so you have time to visit both it and Trogir.

My sense is that 3 nights in Hvar is too much, and 1 night in Split perhaps not enough. Unless you are serious beach people or seaside bar loungers. But I have a hard time imagining 3 nights in Hvar – what will you do?

I think you can indeed gt to Kobarid from Bled, but it will take a lot of twisty roads. Kobarid is a pretty enough village, with an outstanding (tho small) WWI museum, but otherwise, it does not register on the cute villages scale.

Likewise, 2 nights in Plitvice seems a lot, unless you plan to arive late, spend the night, spend all the next day in the park) and then leave the following morning. That is do-able. (Ideally you will be going in the spring, when water levels are high. I have been in spring and fall, and spring is far better.)

For your unscheduled night, you could overnight at the surprisingly lively and pretty (tho not terribly old) Adriatic resort of Grado. Good churches, and accs to Aquilea nearby for world-class Roman moaaic floors.
