Note to the above poster--

A non-cancellable and non-changeable means that YOU cannot change or cancel the reservation. The airline can do what they want as long as theu get you to your location.

Did you notice that you may have looked a bit 'odd' yelling at the airline people? Why yell? I can think of worse places to be stranded than Europe!

Maybe you are what Europeans call and ugly American. Please reserve your temper so the reat of us don't look bad.

Lufthansa is like the United Airlines of Europe. Everyone loves to hate them but they run a damn good airline. Isn't it a coincidence that they were the forming airlines of the Star Alliance.

Oh, if you think Lufthansa is a smaller airline, it is but they also have major investments in British Midland 20%, Luxair 13%, Air Dolomiti (20%) and Lauda Air (20%). I believe they are also trying to buy stakes in Air India. SAS also has some investments in these airlines, so along with Lufthansa, an airline like British Midland is basically controlled by the joint venture.

Lufthansa is an airline, not a country club. Why do people believe that once they step on an airline they can sit in their seat and demand to be served like a King?

I don't think that most people want to be served like a king/queen. THEY JUST LIKE TO BE SERVED. They are trapped in these tiny seats with big bertha blocking their way to the aisle. Any company that depends on its survival MUST provide some kind of service. The flight ATTENDANTS job is to attend to the customers needs. Have you ever been on a cruise. You'll never find better service than on almost all cruise lines. When you are cramped into a situation built for someone half your size and you are spending a significant amount of money you should expect something.

There used to be a proper supermarket in the airport, along with a sex shop/cinema! Is this still true?

I flew on Lufthansa from LAX to Frankfurt last year and their economy section had the worst seating I have ever experienced. I'm only 6 feet tall but there was no legroom and I was miserable the entire flight. It seemed to me like the 747 seat configuration was unusually packed with seats and it was more difficult to walk around the cabin than usual.

I realize it's difficult to make a judgement based on one flight but I'm flying back to Frankfurt next month on another airline. It's a little more inconvenient but I don't want to take a chance and suffer through a long flight like that again.

If you can live with the lack of legroom I'd say go for it because your airfare sounds really cheap.

Good luck.

Hello Rebecca,

I`m a senator card member with Lufthansa. Not because I`ve chosen it, but because it`s the only way to cover Germany and Europe flying out of Frankfurt. However it`s a good and SAFE Airline and that`s not my opinion but a fact. I`ve flown many other ones and my favourite is Singapur. But compared to Delta, United or Iberia(ugh) Lufthansa wins the race.
Regarding a trip from the Airport in three hours-forget about it. It`s possible, because the S-Bahn to the city-center will only take 15 min., but I can`t imagine being in a foreign city without knowing directions and enjoy sth. relaxed.
One of the best things about the Frankfurt Airport is the variety of things you are able to do there.
For example shopping-I recently bought a very nice BREE bag and realized afterwards that it was cheaper than in a shop downtown. There are 2 very famous German hairdressers, called Troendle, where you can relax.
Furthermore a bunch of good restaurants, bars and bistros to have a meal or a drink. My favourite is Kaefers(departure B). You can watch an English movie, attend a service at the Airport church or gamble at the Casino-whatever you like...

Have fun but don`t try to explore the city..

Miriam
