British Airways, Cathay, Qantas and other members of the Oneworld Alliance hand out envelopes on their flights to collect spare change from passengers. They accept legacy currencies because they can consolidate the funds and exchange them. Unicef probably takes such contributions directly, too.

I was told by some Germans who were lamenting the loss of "their" DM and the change from the DM to the EURO that the DM is still the currency of the realm in Kosovo. So, if everything else fails, there's always that option (if my info. was correct)
