Eurostar Italy tickets at FCO?
Somebody just sent me an annonymous e-mail saying that you can buy tickets and make resrvations for the Eurostar Rome-Venice while still at FCO. This would be a great way to kill some time waiting for the luggage to arrive....or not. Is this true, and if so where is the location inside FCO?

You can indeed purchase train tickets (and make seat reservations) for the entire Italian Railways network, from the ticket window of the train station at Fiumicino Airport in Rome (FCO). HOWEVER, this is done AFTER luggage is claimed! The ticketing area is located near the train tracks, which are outside of the main terminal building where luggage is reclaimed.

Here's another tip: go to www.trenitalia.com prior to your trip and print out the schedule for the day and timeframe that you want to travel. Then you'll know which trains are Eurostar and can just hand the schedule to the ticket agent and point to the train that you want.

Yes we bought Eurostar tickets at FCO. It's right where you pick up the train into town. There is an information office where they speak some English and actually will discuss the schedule a bit. Much less hectic than Rome. <BR>Also, In Rome the other trains are about 400 yards away and it is a bit confusing, (don't follow the crowd down the stairs)<BR>If there were clear signs pointing the way we missed them. It was two years ago things may be clearer now.

This will give you an idea of the layout at FCO. Those yellow tubes are walkways located 2 levels up from "Arrivals", there is also a walkway/escalator that goes beneath the street to the station from "Arrivals". www.adr.it/en/fiumic/fiumic-00.html click-on "Airport Maps". Regards, Walter<BR>
