I think Lucas is busy being a troll! Or making a joke.
I second Janisj's suggestion of going to England as it is a kid and family friendly place. I'd start in London and do some of the things she suggested. I took my grandkids on a Harry Potter walking tour and they loved it, we spent a day at the Tower of London (they loved the stories and seeing the Beefeatters), watch the changing of the guards at Buckingham Castle (now you can also go on a limited tour of the castle). What kid doesn't like the pomp and circumstance and stories of knights in shinning armour and of kings and queens. There is also a Paddington Bear tour which is fun.

Wow, all wonderful advice. I appreciate them all. Ok, you all are correct. Lots of thinking and researching to do still...I do feel a bit rushed to make such a decision to go because of the cheap airfare. I'll keep all your suggestions in mind and will do more research and hopefully prices are reasonable that we can go in May or the summer months when the weather is better for the kids, too. I do want to have a great experience in Europe.
By the way, the Harry Potter tour really caught my attention, thanks nanabee for mentioning it. I think my 7 years old will have a blast when we go to London. He's been really into Harry Potter lately.

Even better . . . the WB Harry Potter studio (much better and more extensive the Universal theme parks in the States)
https://www.wbstudiotour.co.uk
It is just outside of London and there is an easy train connection then a WB shuttle but to the studio.
