EUROPCAR CHEAT ON QUOTES

I have been a Europcar customer for several years now. A few months ago I booked a car on internet and pre-paid using my Visa card. When I returned the car suddenly the car insurance had increased by 20% and they charged me for an extra day as well. Not only that, they said added another 43 pounds to my pre-paid fee with no explanation at all. A grand total of another 150 pounds on top of my pre-paid amount. They simply said the quote was more even though I had the email confirmation. I have emailed them and visited an office. The customer service in the office (the manager called Steven at Glasgow airport)) was rude and aggitated. In the end he tried to make up and be friendly but the damage was done,. He sweated profusley while attempting to explain the bill. Each time with a different rationale. He passed it over to over to head office and said they would contact me within 10 days.

I heard nothing from head office and emailed them. A month later thay got back to me with an very impersonal email saying the bill was right. They simply breezed over the fact that I have evidence of the original quote and that it was pre-paid, and they didn't even mention or explain why the insurance had suddenly increased by 20%.

They have made it impossible for me to continue using them because I will never know if the quote they give me on the internet is right or they will simply add another 50 quid to it and then also increase insturance by 20%. I really feel cheated and their customer service has been appauling.

I will be looking for another car rental complany.

I think I'd be doing something BESIDES just "looking for another car company" otherwise they will have pulled this thing off and made money from your desire to "just give up."

They made an error on our bill in Edinburgh but quickly amended the it. They were very apologetic and swift with the refund. I am sorry that happened to you.
I would also contact your credit card co.

Dispute it SOON with the CC company and let them sort it out. But time is ticking and in fact may be over. I think you have 60 days to dispute a charge, but it might be more.
