As travel is falling off between US and Europe this year because of the Euro/Dollar, AND the rising costs of fuel for cars...I'm planning to keep checking for changes in hotel costs right up the the time when I actually have to commit to a reservation. We are still going...(we've already bought our airline tickets, which have gone up over $200pp since we purchased them) but I know we will be eating "lighter" and definitely taking advantage of our kitchens in the apts we've chosen for 2 weeks in Umbria and 2 week at Lake Como!

It is going to be a challenge, but I think we're up to it!
