Euro ATM's in London

Does anyone know if there are ATM's in London (maybe Gatwick/Heathrow/Waterloo) that dispense Euro bills? Thanks.

No, London still uses the pound if you want Euro you will have to purchase them from a currency exchange place or Marks & Spencer a dept/grocery store or a bank. I understand M & S does it fee free from pounds to Euro.

Not really the same concept, Tom. I can walk two blocks from my office here in Canada and get US$ out of an ATM. If one of the UK banks was entrepreneurial enough, there would be ATMs dispensing Euros in the departure area at LHR or LGW or at Waterloo.

Ron:

Why would there be an ATM in Toronto dispensing US dollars. Doesn't make any sense to me. I have never seen one but I don't live in Canada. Is this a usual thing? I can't comprehend this would be of any use to the average person in the street....

Ron, that is incredible news as I go to the US often from Toronto. Where is this ATM? I've never heard of such a thing. What are the exchange rates like and is there a fee.?
I'm going to be really surprised if you answer this, but hope you didn't just make it up.

Peter,

Plenty of Americans want Canadian cash in border cities. They can't wait to spend their greenbacks in our stores and casinos!!! I didn't appreciate your comment...I find it offensive from a dweller of our closest neighbor.

But then why am I surprised??? When American soldiers killed four Canadian soldiers "by accident", GWB did FIVE press conferences before he even apologized for their actions. Now had the situation been reversed, Americans would have been screaming bloody murder.

Tom, it is not the same concept at all. Chicago is FAR from the Mexican border.

In response to the original post, I agree with ron who said that eventually some entrepreneur in London will evntually think of ATMs dispensing euros, especially at the airport and train stations.

Duane and XXXX, the ATM I was talking about is in Ottawa. Its a CIBC branch right downtown, they have 4 ATMs in the lobby, three give Canadian $, one gives US$ and Canadian $. I've only used it once for US$, so don't remember the rate. I don't imagine it gets a lot of use for the US$, buts its probably cheap to implement - just put US$20s in the C$50s bin and write a bit of software.

Huh? Are you talking about an ATM that allows you to take cash out of your Canadian checking account buy in US dollars? Or are you talking about a currency exchange machine -- put in Canadian dollars and get out US dollars? A lot of difference.

duane, I am talking about a standard ATM that gives you the option of withdrawing US$ or Canadian $ from your checking account or savings account or line of credit, or as a cash advance on your credit card.

I didn't intend my question to result in a major international incident! My question came about from reading that banks in Switzerland do have Euro ATM's. I have a tight train connection in Brussels and would like to get my Euro's in London instead of rushing around Brussels Midi looking for an ATM.
