I hadn’t heard they’d gone back to yellow so I Guess it hasn’t impacted me much. Between Venice and now Sicily, everything has been open and my CDC vaccination card has been accepted everywhere I’ve been asked to show it. Hope it continues. I have 5 more full days here.

Our experience with the PLF is that it is a nothing burger. Delta Airlines only wanted to see we had a QR code, and they emphasized Italian authorities will check it. When we arrived in Rome, everything is self-service (scan your own passport and pull your mask down for automated photo and that was it). No contact with humans anymore (at least as of last week; we are aware that it is possible that this could change as rules are changing). Except for Delta needing to see a QR code in Raleigh and Atlanta, no one in Italy had any interest in the PLF. Don't worry about it and have a great trip; just make sure you get your QR code before you get to the airport. We are aware that, beginning tomorrow, you will have to do a Covid test 72 hours before your arrival in Italy, but this may also only be checked by the airline and not by anyone in Italy.

i will be in Friuli for 3 days.. then Sicily after that. I want to get a rapid test in Palermo so if you recommend where you got yours, let me know. Sicily for a couple of weeks then Rome. After that I am not sure but maybe will stop in Firenze for a couple of days. Hope you had a blast in Sicilia!

I got mine at Dr. Giovanni Piazza clinic. About a mile north of Vittorio Emmanuelle 2, just off Via Roma. If you go to their website you can download an app that will let you preschedule. They do tests from 8:00 through 11:30 am, M-F. I waited for my results at a little piazza nearby and had a paper printout an hour later. Very easy. They swabbed my throat and one nostril.

Great updated info! QUESTION: QR Code refers to the CDC Vaccination Card.....right? Just to emphasize the 72 hours PRIOR TO ARRIVAL TO ITALY. A friend just got his travel plans completely changed AT THE AIRPORT because he calculated and took test to meet 72 hours prior to departure (he was going to Lima, Perú). He was short 15 MINUTES because it is 72 hours prior to ARRIVAL and was NOT allowed in the plane.
(We saw several couples who mis-calculated on their tests, but Delta in Atlanta calmly directed them to a nearby testing center in the terminal, and they were able to get results in time for boarding. We were impressed with how well Delta dealt with passenger confusion on such things as PLF and test results and helped everyone get through it, while our flight was delayed less than half and hour.)

I also found it a bit klunky to complete. I just looked at mine., Like rialtogrl said, I think they are most interested in your flight information into the EU. For me, a flight from Minneapolis to Paris and then a flight from Paris to Venice. I don’t see anything regarding train plans. As an earlier poster stated, I wouldn’t worry about that until you need to worry about it. I do know my niece, who landed in Italy about a week ago did have her DPLF checked at her departure airport in NYC but then she said no one asked to see if after that.
I also noticed that I may have made a mistake and included my permanent US address under the “temporary address” section., I’m betting they want my Venice address there. But I’m not sure I want to go about trying to change it for fear of goofing something up. I think I’m just going to leave it and deal with it if I need to.
