electrical current converter

Do I need an "electrical current converter" in Italy? Or just an adaptar? Anyone have any feedback on charging IPOD's while in Italy? Do I need special adaptar, currency converter for the IPOD? Thanks for your feedback.

Hope this helps.

It depends on what you want to run. Most of today's electronics are dual voltage (110Volt - 220 Volt). It usually says so on the equipment. If it is for 110Volt only, then you need a transformer. Any travel store will sell them, so does AMAZON. Actually, just to be on the safe side, I awalys take my small transformer along, for night light, etc.

I'm not sure about the IPOD. I usually charge my in any (rental) car or computer. I'm planning to get a house current charger during the week (birthday present). Don't know if it will be dual voltage.

One thing to keep in mind: Because Europe has a different alternating cycle system, all electric motors will run about 15% slower. There's nothing you can do about that.

Hi log,

>....Europe has a different alternating cycle system......

Why are you running a DC motor on an AC system?

Hi con,

Your chargers should say "input 110 - 220V" (or close to those numbers). If it does, you only need a plug adapter.

Or do what I do - I recharge my GPS fob, Pocket PC, camera, and the kids' video games from the USB ports on my laptop. I don't carry any chargers at all.

By the way - you don't need a currency converter, because Steve Jobs has already converted your money into amenities for his Grand Cayman retreat.

Because my shaver would blow, if I'd feed it 230V AC.

Steve Jobs needs the money to buy spare parts for his body, so leave him alone...

The simple answer is no, you only need an adapter for the ipod because it is a dual current device.

For your camera battery charger(s), the same is PROBABLY true, but the plug should say whether it is 110-220V.

A salesman at a travel store told me we need to use a transformer for heated appliances (hair dryer, curling iron, etc.). Adapter for cell phones, cameras is fine as long as they are 110-220v.
