I've never had any problems with Senegalese vendors. They approach, but if there's nothing that I want to buy, then they leave. I have never experienced them being pushy. It's the same here in L.A. with all the folks selling things on the street. They are just trying to make a living and have to hustle and work really long hours to do so. Happy Travels!

" The more clothing she removed, the younger she became. I think she is very young. " Kerouac, I was thinking that as I looked at her photos. She looks very young, poor thing. I hope that life gets easier for her and her baby. You are a very kind man, which I'm sure she alraedy knows.

I don't mind the Senegalese vendors - if you say 'no' firmly, they back off.

re: <<I know they are pesky, but felt a bit sorry for them.
After all they weren't peddling drugs, stealing from tourists>>

Those pests certainly ARE not just stealing but ROBBING tourists of precious time and tranquility. Totally ruined Trocadero for me-- I won't go up there again, and I wish I had a fly swatter with me then.

Not at all-- they then say "Are you SURE?" while continuing to wave those towers in your face.

That's wasn't my experience thankfully. I think it's a shame to let them stop you going anywhere. 'robbing tourists of precious time and tranquility' = really???

The easiest way not to be bothered is to not see or hear them. If you walk past them without a glance, they just wait for the next person.
