Edinburgh Tattoo Tix - Seats

Has anyone been to the Military Tattoo?

If choosing seats, would you rather sit in sections 8 or 9, around rows J to L? Or would you rather take a seat in section 7, higher up, and towards the side of the section (W to Y). Let us know which you would chose and why - Thanks!!

Very little difference between 7, 8 and 9. Probably Sec. 9 would be my preference but all three are very similar.

Janis - do you think Row J is high enough to see the formations?

On the other hand, X may make the performers look like "specs."

yes - the entire grandstand is elevated at least 6 feet (can't remember for sure - it might even be more).

The Esplanade isn't that big - think "concert hall" rather than "football stadium"

Okay - looks huge on my computer screen - actually the "high-up" shots I've seen must be aerial shots then if the stadium isn't that large. These pics really give the impression of a massive pitch. Sounds like 9 will be the best bet overall (even over 7).

What do you guys think - would it be worth seeing the Tattoo on two nights from section 9, and then 7? Also wondering if it works to walk up to Arthur's Seat to see the fireworks from there. What time would a person have to walk up to avoid scrambling down in the dark?

You asked the original question 3 days ago - are those same seats even still available?

>>would it be worth seeing the Tattoo on two nights from section 9, and then 7?<<

Uh - no. First of all the program will be exactly the same, and secondly the view from one section/seat is not very different than the view form another. ESPECIALLY when you are talking about two sections essentially adjacent to each other.
