Edinburgh apartment choice, please advise

I'm not sure i totally get all the warnings about being on the Royal Mile being noisy. Unless the flat is right on top of a pub - and even then unless there was music, i don't really see it. I've stayed on the Royal Mile, just off it, in Grassmarket, on Princes Street, on Castle street near Rose Street, and several places in New Town, among others, and the Royal Mile wasn't even close to the loudest.

Me too. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks. Now, I know I have made a couple of postings on here that don't show any more. One was to Gardy, pointing out that the Traverse is in Edinburgh, and doesn't DO noise (It was a joke), and one pointing out the classy cafe in the Traverse foyer which does great breakfasts.
I think it's "make your mind up time", sugarmaple

True enough, and looking at the calendar for the Usher Hall (next door) I suspect the only noise that would intrude on the OP's stay would be that of genteel applause. https://www.usherhall.co.uk/searchresults.aspx
