Hi Monica, thanks for the tasty reviews.
You mention a 'slab of foie gras' on your salad at Lepicurien. Was this foie gras 'entier' or the type I tend to think of as 'pate' ?(Apologies, I suspect my terminology isn't quite on.)

Monica, I know you spent a lot of time planning and checking out restaurants before hand, and it sounds as if it really paid off.
I wonder if those who recently posted that they couldn't find good food in Paris and the couple I overheard the other day saying their friends just returned from Paris and "you know, it's now IMPOSSIBLE to get a decent meal for two for less than $500 due to the low dollar" are reading this?

Hi NeoPatrick,
Thanks! Yes, after my research (which planning is half the fun of a trip), I felt I hit the jackpot at these restaurants with the quality of the food, the prices, and service.
No one has to spend $500 in Paris on a meal! Even our splurge dinner (95 Euro tasting menu (pp) and a bottle of wine to share (36 Euros) was <i> only </> $154 each.

And my meal at l'Epi Dupin with Monica was the ONLY restaurant dinner that I had because my elderly mother was always exhausted by 5:00 and wanted to be home with her feet up, eating an English muffin and watching bad 1970's TV movies on satellite (we found an especially tacky Valerie Bertinelli one).
Thanks for the invite Monica!

The bakery in my building had wonderful pastries and breads. One of my favorites was with cheese! Sort of long, thick bread with cheese inside and parmesan on the outside. Yum!
