Eating in restaurant of Hotel Grotta Palazzese

Hello
I wonder if anyone can give me some idea of the price of a lunch or a dinner (for a non resident) in the Hotel Grotta Palazzese in Polignano a Mare near Bari? I've seen several wonderful reviews of this hotel restaurant on Fodors.
Thank you

Another query .... would I need to book in advance? I will be in the area in mid April next year.
Thanks!

You could write to them and ask if you do not get answers here; make sure that they are open for lunch on the day you want to visit in April:

Hi, Pammca -

The Grotta Palazzese is wonderful! I ate dinner there in May 2007. As I recall, I had 3 courses, each with a glass of wine, and then an after dinner drink; counting tip, I think I paid 75 or 80 euros, but I could be mistaken. I would recommend a reservation to ensure a table, and even if tables were available, you might get an even better table with a reservation than without. Also, do contact them ahead of time - I'm pretty sure that the restaurant is closed during the winter; I don't know when they reopen.

Enjoy!

Thank you for the useful information - I'll contact them to check if they are open around Easter and if not, I'll remember them for a summer trip in the future!

Hi Pammca: This is a spot that we hope to go to. I have contacted them to find out when they open the restaurant and they wrote back saying that they open within the "first few days of May". They said it depends on the "environmental conditions" therefore they don't cite an exact date. He said that for sure they'd be open by the middle of May.

I hope that if you go to Puglia that you'll write about it. I know there are many here who would appreciate your impressions and suggestions. There is not enough written about Puglia. Maybe that's a good thing! ;-) People seem to love it.

As I'll be in the area in mid April (school holidays), it looks like I'll be too early. I do appreciate the fact that they can't open until the weather is conducive to outdoor dining!
So it will have to wait until a future visit - another reason for living (as my Mum would say)!
