EasyJet/Ryanair flight prices

Is it me or are these flights much more expensive this year? I don't mean a BIT more, I mean a LOT more. Even allowing for the increase in oil prices, the fares seem to have skyrocketed. I'm trying to book London/Athens, London/Croatia in September. Looking at well over £120 round trip. Managed it for half that last year. There don't seem as many sale offers either. Sorry to moan :-<

Those are super-popular flights, so it's to be expected. And it's a long way from London to Athens. Try looking at some less popular destinations and you'll find great prices.

Last year we took the EssyJet flight from Athens to Gatwick in August. I booked it the very first day the schedule was opened and the cost was about 55 Euro. Of course, later on the price was up to 200 Euro.

Has the schedule just opened or been open for a while? If the latter then, of course, the prices will be higher.

Booked a flight to Rome with Ryanair some weeks ago for E9.99 each way.
The fare today for the same flight on the same day is 'free'
Who said you should book early.

You do have a point, gertie. I booked three Easy Jet flights the very day the summer schedules opened up. All were significantly more than I had seem them to be early last year. Still a bargain as I booked them early, but my Gatwick to Nice flight booked the first day it was offered was 79 pounds or so -- not the 9.95 or 19.95 I had expected.

At the moment Bristish Airways is cheaper to Athens. Never thought I'd see the day.
