Dusseldorf hotels

Does anyone know of a good, maybe family owned and operated, hotel in Dusseldorf, Germany? One with a great breakfast would be wonderful! We will be there for 3 nights next June and would love any recommendations from this group! It doesn't have to be family owned and operated, we just don't want a chain hotel or one that will break the bank. Thank you for any recommendations!

If you don't find anywhere else you might try the Adina chain of aparthotels. I know, I know, no chain, you said, but I have stayed in Adinas many times and they are really fabulous. Excellent breakfasts or self-cater, and there is a washer-dryer in rooms in some hotels. Do look into them.

You might just see also what hotels Rick Steves' guidebook suggests for Düsseldorf. There is not much discussion of that city here. When I last stayed there it was in an odd rental property on the outskirts - we had a car and thought it would be easier. I would not recommend it to anyone!

I do recommend Adina though. Although the Adina in Ddorf is next to the central station. I like being in that area because Immermanstr. and little Tokyo are nearby. But you might want to be a bit more central.
