Durley House - London

Please provide comments/experience with this hotel? Also looking at Capital and Halkin for our trip next month. Thank you.

I never get the Halkin. It's an hotel that Londoners never ever dream of going to. You want Belgravia?

If I were you, I'd stay at one of the traditional, grand hotels. Or if you want all new, then Brown's has just been refurbished in a rather generic Rocco Forte style.

It's very hard to comment on something if you've no idea what the person wants, is willing to spend, etc. It's rather like you asking a blind man "does this dress look good on me"...although in the case of David Blunkett..

Thank you, Kingdom. You're correct - I should have described what I'm looking for - taveling with my family, prefer smaller/boutique hotel ideally with two bedroom suite or connecting room arrangement in Kensington area, four or five star. Durley and Capital both offer such. I have looked at Halkin as it has consistently good reviews.

I've looked at their web-site. It seems utterly pretentious, and is geared entirely towards tourists. Also, I bet that the service isn't always up to scratch.

If you want Belgravia/Sloane St. then The Berkeley is a much better bet, and it has a superb health club.

Blakes is a great unique boutique hotel in South Kensington. Take a look and see if you think it's what you're after.
