Dumfries & Galloway or The Borders

If you had time for one night in Dumfries & Galloway or the Borders - which would you choose & why?

Eric,

I don't have a recommendation yet, but by this time next week I may be able to help. We chose Galloway as it seemed off the path. Right now planning on at least staying in Kirkudbright, Wigtown, Stranlaer, and Newton Stewart or Castle Douglas. I'll post as soon as I can help!
Danna

Galloway!

Kircudbright is the best village in Scotland! Granted I haven't seen them all but you can check out their town website to get an Idea...I did,...and we had a brilliant time...Hope you get to see the town cat Caesar...Enough to do for a few days and the best people who talk to strangers we met in 3 weeks!
