Dublin Sights

I will be going on a seven day esorted tour to Ireland in June. We will spend three days in Dublin with plenty of free time. Any thoughts of where to go/what to see would be appreciated.

It would help to know what is being covered by the group. And also, what your interests are.

Grafton Street has alot of shops, bars, & restuarants.

The Book of Kells is interesting to see at Trinity College. A different page is displayed every day.

The Gravity Bar in the Guiness Storehouse was great. You are able to see the city from the windows. We skipped the tour and went straight up to the bar to enjoy our pint.

Kilmainham Gaol, St. Stephen's Green, O'Connell St., Temple Bar area, Dublin Castle, Christ Church Cathedral, Croke Park, Trinity College/Book of Kells, The GPO, Guinness Store House, Jameson Distillery, National Museum of History/Archeology/Science.

That's just off of the top of my head. I'm sure some of it will be covered by your tour. Find what you're interested in and see what Dublin has to offer in that area.

I strongly recommend Killmainham Gaol. You can take in the tour there and visit Guinness in an afternoon.

Kilmainham Gaol,Book of Kells and Christchurch cathedral were real highlights for us. We never made it to the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin Castle but this came highly recommended to us and it won European museum of the year in 2002.

Kilmainham jail is my first pick, along with the National Museum of Ireland (archeology) on Kildare Street. We liked the Jameson Distillery tour more than the Guiness Storehouse.

Hi I highly recommend the viking splash as a great way to get to see the city and also have some fun. Pick up points are near Christchurch and St Stephens green. We did it the last time we were in Dublin and it was great.
