Dublin Hotels

Fall trip with a Dublin short layover. I have been to Dublin briefly but my partner has not. - 2 part question....1. Location: St Stephens Green, Grafton St or Temple Bar? 2nd question: Cost: What is happening in the time frame of 9/28 to 9/30 in Dublin that would make the Shelbourne 3k + for 2 nights? much higher than their usual.
TIA

There are always concerts etc on in Dublin all year, bit it appears that Andrea Bocelli is on on the dates you mention, so maybe that's the factor.

We stayed at The Shelbourne last Fall. Fantastic hotel and service in a great location. Highly recommend.

It's one of my top choices but coming in at $1500 plus a night is not helpful, unfortunately.

At $1500+ that not a dream hotel, it's a nightmare!
Temple Bar risks pub noise, Grafton Street is OK but pretty commercial.
We had a lovely stay at The Merrion hotel, a lovely 5* property in a good location.
