Driving Tour--Car specifics-IPOD!
Hello.....we will be leaving on Thursday for lovely ireland(our first) and have a nice driving itinerary set up....but a few quick questions.
Has anyone used their Ipod in europe/ireland?
Are the cars there equipped with the typical 12 volt cigarette lighter?
Also, I assume they use the traditional FM 101.9, 97.5, etc. dial?
Perhaps bringing the Ipod and my own driving music is a waste.........im sure there are some very interesting radio shows on the west coast!?
Any thoughts would be appreciated

Hey Constant,
I would highly recommend that you bring your own music along. Half of the the fun of a nice driving tour, is having great music to listen to. It also adds to your future enjoyment: my memory is imprinted with certain albums linked to travels in Europe - whenever I hear a song from Brooks and Dunn's greatest hits, I remember cruising through Germany's black forest in the misty morning with the sun just creeping above the horizon.
The voltage is the same, so your ipod should work fine.
Have a nice trip!

I bring along the classical works composed in the region I'm visiting. Listening to Handel or Telemann's Wassermusik whilst proceeding down the Rhine in my royal barge* is one of my favorite things to do in Europe.
