You have to stick to the Blue sings versus the Green ones if you wish to take the Autostrata. It seems a little detail but it is not because some times signs pointing to the same destination pop up together point ing different directions.

I think the blue signs indicate state roads, and the green ones are for the Autostrata. Did this trip a few times, just keep the navigator looking to keep you on the right track.

I've done that drive and it isn't all that tough and the roads are very well marked although you need to pay attention to your route when you get off the autostrada near Pompei.
