Driver/Guide for Speyer, Germany
Four of us are going to be in Speyer for a day with a Grand Circle Christmas Markets cruise in December. Our ancestors came to the US from Kusel, Germany, which is about an hour from Speyer, and we would like to go there.
Does anyone have any ideas about how we can find a driver/guide for the day. I have sent two emails to the Speyer Tourist Office and haven't gotten a reply.

Sorry that the TI was not helpful yet.
I'm not from the Speyer region, but if you do not get a better reply here or from the TI, I just wanted to let you know that you can hire each registered taxi cab in Speyer for that ride.
As the ride will take you (far) out of the licensed area, you should negogiate and fix a fare in advance.
Honestly, I got no clue what a decent or too expensive price would be.
While a cab driver will drive you anywhere, you probably cannot expect him to be a guide.

I live about 20 minutes south of Kusel and would recommend renting a car for the day and driving yourself. Its not a difficult drive at all, and you could easily drive around Kusel and the surrounding area. If you don't want to drive, I second the train idea. It just seems to me that a taxi ride from Speyer would be pretty expensive.
Have a great trip.
