Drive Time from Bari to Sorrento?

Hi, We arrive from a cruise into Bari, at 3 p.m. and need to drive to our hotel in Sorrento. Can anyone tell me how long it will take us to make this drive? Also is there anything Historical along the way that we should not miss? We then plan to drive to Amafi from Sorrento. Any problems with this drive? Thank You

According to Mapquest, it's about 3 1/2 hours from Bari to Sorrento (178.3 miles).

When I arrive in Sorrento from Tuscany, I'm turning in my rental car... I'll not drive the Amalfi coast, the SITA bus will work just fine for me!

Naples to Bari took us something like four hours. We didn't stop anywhere along the way as it was so hot as we drove that route in the afternoon in July that we just wanted to get to Bari.

You will be traveling through Puglia and Basilicata. There is plenty to see, but if you only have the day to get there, it's probably not realistic to plan much.

I would NOT recommend driving from Sorrento to Amalfi unless perhaps your trip occurs during the winter (when there may be less traffic). Take the SITA bus, sit on the right side of the bus, and enjoy the view!
