It seems the brass buttoned blazer has somehow reached epidemic proportions on the American "naff dresser" stereotype scale. I can't remember the last time I saw a brass buttoned blazer at a nice restuarant here in the US. And it is definitely not our "national costume"

It's like saying all Englishmen wear tweed jackets with suede elbow patches.

I have to say, all the wardrobe advice made me laugh; I'm afraid my sweetie *is* a navy jacket/brass buttons/striped tie kind of guy. But not at the Three Chimneys, I guess; we were lucky enough to snag a reservation for later in the evening. Perfect for us. Thanks.
