Dreaming about travel

Sometimes when I'm having "one of those days", my fried and I will pop into Barnes and Noble or whatever bookstore is in the area. We'll grab a cup of coffee and then go sit (yes, literally sit on the floor) in the travel section isle. We "go on vacation" by reading the travel books. It's a great pick me up.

Yes, I dream about places! I dream of Paris and London, I dream about future trips to Paris (seeing things I missed the 1st time) and I dream about places I've never even been, yet the dreams seem so palpably real!! Once dreamt of Italy - in the dream the sunlight seemed GOLDEN - not just bright and sunny but GOLDEN! And warm and calm and peaceful (in the countryside). One of the main reasons why I want to go. : ) Happy Dreamy Travels ~MaryC

I knew there had to be a travel dreams thread. I had a dream last night that I had decided to visit the Iceberg Lettuce Museum in Paris (no such place of course). It was on the Avenue du Maine.
I felt I couldn't pass it up because, after all, it was close to my hotel. (The Avenue du Maine is close to the hotel where I will be staying.)

Hi dot - On a regular basis, I dream of having air reservations and am packing, driving, calling, doing all sorts of things to try to get myself packed and to the airport but I can't seem to make it happen. It's very panicky-feeling. I re-read tickets only to discover they were for the day before. Or the next day. But the usual point is that I can't make it happen like it should. I hate those dreams but maybe that's why I'm the inveterate list-maker, planner, scheduler, etc. Oh - and in those dreams often when I do arrive at the airport, I'm naked. I just had a dream the other night that I was going into the airport when I thought, "oh no I'm naked." I looked down and saw that I was dressed - Tshirt and shorts which I disdain when I travel. Not sure what that means, but I consider just having clothes on to be progress!

WillTravel, that was so surreal - thanks for the laugh!! And thanks for topping. I'd almost forgotten my golden dream of Italy (I've still never been). That was a powerful dream.
Time to pull out the Jung & Freud textbooks!!
Poor Shanna, being in t-shirts & shorts would be worse than being naked!!

Not often enough (because it is like a no-jet-lag mini-vacation when it happens) but I do sometimes have very vivid dreams set in Europe. What is curious to me is the other people are speaking French (which I do not speak)... how can my mind do that, I wonder? ;-)
