Doolin, Cashel, Dingle

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Has anyone made the drive from Doolin to Cashel? And the drive from Cashel to Dingle? How long did it take you? Anything I should be prepared for?

Thanks again!

The AA Route Planner will give you driving times - www.theaa.com/travelwatch/planner_main.jsp - and routes to take. You can even put in places you want to see along the way and it will readjust the route for you. As for what to be prepared for - there are a lot of posts on Fodor's about driving in Ireland. Is that what you meant?

I didn't quite do that drive but I left Doolin around 11:30 and went north to the Ailawee Caves. We did a tour and took pics. That was about an hour to an hour and a half. We then came down past Doolin and Lahinch. We were on our way to the Shannon Ferry. We got there before 5:00. We took the ferry over, which is about 20 minutes, and drove along the cost. We past Dingle and went to Killarney. Dingle is closer than Killarney is so I'd say we got to Killarney about 6:30. I don't know how much this will help ya but it might give you an estimate of time. If you live in the U.S. remember that it takes twice as long for you to get places around Ireland. I've only been on the west coast of Ireland. We're going again in October - November. Enjoy your trip!!

doolin is great. traditional irish music capital of ireland. only b&b's to stay in. i drove from kinsale to doolin and it was over 6 hours. atlantic sunset house is a great b&b. i stayed at one good one there that starts with 'island', but i forget the name. can not emphasize enough...BRING DRY CLOTHES. bring an umbrella, raincoat, etc...the (WINDY) mist of the atlantic comes right in there!!!!!!!!

We were just there in Doolin a week ago--I liked the Aranview hotel just up the hill from the pubs. Doolin area is small but very neat.
Doolin to Cashel? Hmmm--I'd say 3 hrs.--a good hour to get to the N18--then on to cashel shouldn't be too bad.
Relax--get going early---just enjoy
