Don't get drunk in Italy.

When I drink wine in Italy I hardly ever feel its effects, but here in USA I can only drink about two glasses and I get a buzz. Since I want to enjoy the wine and not so much the buzz, we usually finish off a bottle between the two of us at lunch and maybe two at dinner in Italy. Anyone know why? Are there additives in the exports?

I've sometimes felt the same way -- certainly polishing off a lot of wine in Italy and never getting a buzz.<BR>But I always attribute it to the fact that all the wine I consume in Italy is along with a long meal -- more food along with the wine that I would be accustomed to having at home. And I seldom sit and drink the wine in Italy by itself, like I might at home before dinner.

I find this happens whenever I go on holiday. Like Patrick, I put it down to eating more, as well as being relaxed and less tired. I find that lack of sleep and stress associated with my normal working life all adds to worse effects.

Also you don't get a headache as you do in the USA, thats because the wines produced in the USA as well as the wines imported into your country have more sulphites.
