Thank you, Denisea, for the great trip report! We will be in Paris in September for a few days (second trip, last one 20 years ago and 6 months pregnant) so I don't count that! Will be following a few of your recommendations! Thanks again!

I,too, really enjoyed your report! I have some Chanel bought here at Saks but would love to get a piece in Paris.
I also like Cuisine de Bar. They also have a location in the Haute Marais (just off rue Bretagne but I can't remember the name of the side street it's on).
Thank you for posting your report.

denisea, thanks for a great trip report. Yours is the best kind with lots of food and restaurant info. Took a look at the Baccarat champagne flutes since we collect them. Some pretty glasses there- glad you made it home with them intact.
I had been avoiding the Europe forum since my company is being acquired. Not sure if I will have a job but my 94 yo dad said 'Carpe Diem' so we are going in March. Can wait!!

Thanks again for your really helpful and very interesting report! As I said, I'll be mining this for some special treats when I go in the Fall.
Just want to add that I chuckled when I read: >
When I lived in Paris, I used to walk down the streets with that image in mind! Truly!! I would square my shoulders and imagine huge football pads on them and just go barreling down the sidewalks. That was in the 1970s, and I haven't felt the need to do that in my visits recently. I must have gotten so weak, lol!!!

Great trip report, denisea! I love your writing style and hated to see your trip come to an end.
I've taken a lot of notes for my trip in March and can't wait to try some of your restaurants.
Thanks!

Kerouac,
Yes, Denise and Chaz did join us for dinner at Belhara. A fun evening. They are fun people to be with!!
Violon d'Ingres has a bargain lunch menu, due to Café Constant being closed, for another big renovation!
I have lunch reservations! If you want to 'slum' and can make it, you should be at Violon at 1:00!
a bientot...
