Does the Uk use the same type of power outlets?
hello this may sound like a dumb question, but does the uk use the same type of power outlets as the usa? I just found out I have an international plan on my cell phone so I plan on bringing it on my trip even if it is to make a quick one minute call to tell my wife I arrived etc, but I know when i was in south america they use different types of outlets and you need adaptors to plug things in.
Thanks

Yes, you will need an adaptor in order to plug things into the wall.
Also, the voltage is different (120v in US and 220/240 in UK). So, you either need to make sure that your phone or whatever is dual voltage OR you will also need a converter.

This is the type of adapter you will need to plug your U.S. plug into a U.K. wall:

The PB-12 adapter is for the UK.
Check to see if your charger is 110/240V. If it is, then all you need is the plug adapter. If it is just 110/120V, you will need a converter as well as an adapter.
