Just wanted to add that in 60+ rentals from AutoEurope I have almost invariably been given an upgrade to a bigger/better car, too, even when I didn't necessarily want one.

I always check Europcar. I find that its inclusive price is often the best.
I tried them in Switzerland, but the Interlaken agency seems to be gone.
I am not sure renting in Thun is to my advantage.
