Does anybody know where Cevimia Italy is?

My girlfriend has a friend in Florence. And the friends boyfriend has a house in or near Cevimia. They told her we could stay at his house for a few days and go skiing. So I am not sure if it is a name of a mountain or a town. It is in North Italy from what I am told. I did a few internet searches but came up with nothing. Any info would be helpfull. Also a list of ski towns in north Italy would be great too. I might have the spelling wrong because she is Japanese and I can't alaways understand her.
Thanks
Rodney

CERVINIA or BREUIL-CERVINIA is a hot spot for skiing located in the south face of Cervino (Matterhorn) Mountain, within the Val d´Aosta in Northwest Italy. Regards.

Hello Rodney,

Cervinia is a modern resort at the foot of the Matterhorn on the Italian/Swiss border NE of Aosta. It's at 2,000m. and I believe it generally has a good snow record. From there it's possible to ski over to Zermatt. For more info. seeBR>www.skivallee.it/uk/pages/stazioni/breuil/main.htm

Hope this helps ...

Steve
Good evening, it is possible to take a
cableway from Plan Madison up to Testa
Grigia and ski approx. 2 km., over to the Kleines Matterhorn and take cable cars and gondolas down to Zermatt, Has anyone out there tried this.. However this is a high altitude about 12,000+ feet...
Richard of LaGrange Park, Il.

Richard:

I stayed in Zermatt and speant the day skiingin Cervinia. It was a full day adventure, but doable. I had a bit of trouble leaving the Pasta, Vino and glorious ski-runs of Cervina. I waited till about 3PM to start my journey back. By the time I made it over the top and headed back to Zermatt the sun was setting and the trails were geting icy! But It was one of the great ski days that I ever had!
JOHN
