Do you eat beef in the UK?

Mucky - My problem with beef is that I don't think anyone fully understands the mechanisms involved in infection. As the incubation period of vCJD may be anything up to 30 years, I am not 100% sure about how prevalent it may be.
I lived away from the UK during the worst of the BSE crisis, so my "Exposure" is likely to be less than the average Brit. I still believe that the chances of people getting it are very low.
Think of it this way: The chances of being struck by lightning in the UK are low. You can reduce these chances even more by not walking around outside in thunderstorms carrying a metal rod (e.g a golf club). This is my rational for not eating beef - I am not saying you shouldn't.
