Do Aegean Airlines & Lufthansa Airlines generally have many delays?

We were due to depart Santorini on Aegean when there was a last minute strike. We could not get out until the following day. The airline did put us up in a hotel but that didn't get us to Rome any sooner. Not a good idea to try your proposed one-day flights -- too many things to go wrong.
