Discount tickets for Gatwick Express
Hello:
We will be visiting London at the end of April and am trying to find discount tickets for the Gatwick express train into London. Searching on-ine, I could only find a 2 for 4 special on the Gatwick Express site. We are two adults and will need round trip tickets. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Other than the specials (currently "4 for 2"
on the GatwickExpress.co.uk website, I don't know of any discounts for the Gatwick Express. However, if price is a consideration, you can take a slightly slower Southern Railways train (www.southernrailway.com) from Gatwick to Victoria.
There are also Thameslink trains to London Bridge and Kings Cross stations in London. (www.thameslink.com).

AS David says - 4 for 2 is the most common deal on the Gatwick Express. I have seen 2 for 1's but not very often.
If you want to get to Victoria, the regular Southern Railways train will save you a few £. BUT - depending on the time of day it might be a lot more crowded too. A consideration if you have a lot of luggage.
Where are you staying - for some areas the Thameslink is even more convenient - but again, can be pretty crowded durnign commute hours.

Katie,
Thanks for posting! While it didn't help you, I was able to save quite a bit on my group trip to Europe. I still have to buy 6 youth tickets and one extra adult ticket but still every little bit helps. Never thought to check for specials on the site!

Since you are staying in Kens and arriving in the morning -- I'd just fork over the little bit extra for the Gatwick express.
Once at Victoria you can either take the tube (if you have manageable luggage, which hopefully you do) or take a cab.
The tube of course is cheaper but which hotel/address? -- it makes a difference whether the tube is a good choice because of walking distance from a tube station.

Well that hotel is certainly in a great location - But I'd really call it South Kensington -- not Kensington. (And it does make a bit of a difference) It is practically right at the Gloucester Rd Tube station which is served by the Circle/District lines from Victoria. Could not be easier.
